Ah...the comforts of your own home..

We've arrived safely back in Raleigh. Traveling today was breeze - customs in Dallas was quick and painless (I kept thinking that our next trip home from Guatemala - we will have her with us! Sure hope the journey is as easy - yeah right!).

So our last afternoon was great - she was of course all smiles and giggles for us, which made it even harder to say good-bye. Unfortunately the attorney and foster mom arrived an hour late - nothing like dragging it out for us. We talked for a few minutes in the room about how we managed - we complained of aching backs and sore arms (time for us to head to the gym!) and then we walked them to the lobby..and off Fern went in a taxi with a wonderful foster mom who loves her dearly. Did I mention that when they dropped her off on Thursday afternoon - the foster mom was crying when she said good-bye to Fern. Then Mommy & Daddy headed directly to the bar..ordered ourselves a bourbon and a beer each. What a fabulous, exhausting weekend!

In the next few days I will post all the pictures on another website. I'll try to provide you guys with a link.

Even though we are back in Raleigh - check the blog for updates - we get new pictures from our agency every month. And I'm sure Jer will continue to post his odd rambles from time to time.
That's all for now.......

Jer & Selina,
Thanks so much for the exciting weekend you shared with us. What a remarkable experience, and such a loving gesture on your part to share that with all of us. We love the three of you dearly and look forward to many precious moments with Fern.
Love you all
